Subject: How to Get Started With Play-to-Earn Gaming

Hi there!

In our last email, we looked at the concept of the metaverse and
how virtual reality and the real world are intersecting in the
play-to-earn model.

Let’s start with what play-to-earn means.

It’s just what it sounds like, actually: you play a video game
and earn rewards like Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) and
cryptocurrencies.

The more you play, the bigger your rewards.

George Georgiev of CryptoPotato puts it this way:

“It’s a very powerful psychological model because it combines
two activities that have been driving mankind since the dawn of
time — making money and entertainment.”

The key component in the play-to-earn model is to give you,
the gamer, ownership over certain in-game assets and to let
you increase the value of those assets by playing more.

By taking part in this in-game economy, you can create value
for your fellow players in the game ecosystem — and for the
game’s developers.

In turn, you’ll get a reward “in the form of potentially
appreciating in-game assets.”

The main idea is that in a play-to-earn game, you’re rewarded
for putting more time and effort into your game.

In order to get started, you’ll need a few things:

A crypto-wallet like MetaMask, a game that you feel is
engaging enough to stay engaged with, and the start-up cash to
buy into that game.

Most play-to-earn games require you to purchase something upfront
in order to earn rewards later (though not all do).

In order to choose a game, you need to decide what sort of reward
each one offers, how much you’ll need to play to earn those rewards,
and how easy it is to cash out game crypto for real or fiat money.

You can earn rewards in two basic ways: “farming” resources to sell
to other players or trading NFTs on the market.

The former is a saver, but slower way to earn, while the latter is
like playing the stock market.

You need to do your homework and learn what you’re doing before
you invest.

In our next email, we’ll take a look at how to succeed with
play-to-earn gaming.

Until then,
